Accommodation

While conference participants are responsible for making their own accommodation arrangements directly with their choice of hotel, the Local Organizing Committee recommends two hotels, both of which are offering conference-negotiated rates.  These are the Royal Ambarrukmo Hotel – which is also the main conference venue – and the Yogyakarta State University Hotel (or UNY Hotel) which is on the campus of the University, itself the other conference venue.  Shuttle buses will be provided between both these hotels and conference venues.  There are a number of other hotels in Yogyakarta should participants prefer to stay elsewhere but those choosing to do so will be responsible for arranging their own transport to and from conference venues.

Royal Ambarrukmo Hotel

Royal Ambarrukmo Yogyakarta (previously known as Ambarrukmo Palace Hotel) was the first luxury hotel in Yogyakarta and has recently re-opened following extensive renovation and modernisation.  It offers comfortable and well-appointed facilities of an international standard while maintaining some of the atmosphere of its heritage, being situated in the grounds of the palace, and family home, of King Hamengkubuwono VII, certain features of which remain.

The Hotel is approximately a 10-15 minute drive from Yogyakarta’s Adisucipto International Airport.

Transportation from Airport to Hotel

The easiest way to go from Yogyakarta’s Adisucipto International Airport to either of the two recommended hotels is by taxi and meter taxis are readily available at the airport.  Please print out the relevant address to show to the taxi driver.  Depending on traffic, the taxi fee (as shown on the meter) should be approximately Rupiah 30-35,000 from the airport to the Royal Ambarrukmo Hotel and Rupiah 35-45,000 from the airport to the UNY Hotel.  You may change most major currencies into Rupiah on arrival at the airport.

There will be conference liaison officers at the airport to greet participants on arrival and offer assistance with getting  a taxi.

Incidental Expenses

Please note that conference-negotiated rates at the above hotels do not include personal incidental expenses such as laundry, phone calls, mini-bar or room-service in respect of which the hotel may require a deposit on arrival.
