The 11th Annual Conference of the Asia-Pacific Network for Moral Education (APNME)

Conference Theme:

A whole-school approach to moral education

Friday 21st to Monday 24th April 2017

Welcome to Wuhan, China!

The 2017 APNME Conference will be held at the Central China Normal University, Wuhan, China, from Friday 21 to Monday 24 April 2017. Educators and researchers interested in moral development and fostering moral values in education are warmly invited to join us in Wuhan.

The city of Wuhan, with a history going back some 3,500 years, is one of the most ancient cities in China. It is situated at the confluence of the middle reaches of the Yangtze and Hanshui rivers. In the winter of AD 208/9, the cliffs close to Wuhan, were the scene of one of the most famous battles in Chinese history, the Battle of the Red Cliffs. Much more recently, the Wuchang Uprising of 1911, led by Sun Yat-sen and his followers, which resulted in the fall of the Qing dynasty, was launched in Wuhan. In 1926, the National Government made Wuhan its capital city. So, there is much to see and learn in Wuhan, besides what we will all learn from each other and from the Conference presentations and discussions. We look forward to seeing you in Wuhan.
